FOOD AND BEVERAGES: Martini-A 007 cocktail

With no doubt, this drink is still captivating its loyal fans, who don’t surrender upon such delicious aperitif. If you still haven’t tried to discover the enchantment of James Bond’s favorite beverage, taste these Martinis that, surely, will trap you.

Chocolate Martini (two servings)

Ingredients
6 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Chocolate Liquor
Chocolate sticks for garnish

Build over ice in a shaker. Shake, strain into a cold cocktail glass, and garnish with the chocolate sticks.




Gibson Martini (two servings)

Ingredients
8 oz. Gin or Vodka
3 to 5 dashes Dry Vermouth
1/2 onion, cut in small slices for garnish

Combine the ingredients in a shaker with ice. Strain in cold glasses and garnish with slices of onions.



Martini Turf (two servings)
Ingredients
4 oz. Gin
2 oz. Dry Vermouth
1 oz. Pernod
1 oz. Lemon juice
1 stuffed green olives for garnish

Combine Gin, Vermouth, Pernod, and lemon juice in a shaker with ice. Strain in cold glasses, and garnish with the green olives.

Jamaican Martini (two servings)
Ingredients
6 oz. Gin
1 oz. Red Wine
1 teaspoon Black Rum
3 to 5 dashes Orange Bitter
Maraschino Cherries for garnish
Combine Red Wine, Gin, Rum, and Orange Bitter in a shaker with ice. Strain in cold glasses, and garnish with Maraschino cherries.

There are many legends about the origins of Martini. The most famous one tells the story of a chief bartender from a New York City hotel, called Martini di Arma di Taggia. In 1911, he mixed Gin and Vermouth with a few orange juice drops. In his honor, this delicious cocktail went baptized with the current name.
